Humboldt Int’l fest to screen Iran’s ‘Good Girl’

The Humboldt Int'l Film Festival in the US is to screen Iranian short flick 'Good Girl'.

The Humboldt International Film Festival in the US has selected Iranian short flick 'Good Girl' for its 55th official selection.

Written and directed by Raheleh Karami and produced by Mani Qandi, the short film will be appearing at the short film competition section of the American festival.

“‘Good Girl’ is not an ordinary short film. It is a short narrative of subdued and unspoken hatreds; silence and breaking from within...,” a synopsis of the film reads.

Behzad Khalaj, Shaqayeq Faryad-Shiran and Mobina Azadi make the main cast team of the short flick.

'Good Girl' has already gone on screen at some global film events, including the Ischia Global Film & Music Fest in Italy, the Earl's Court Film Festival in the UK, the 5th Int’l Women Filmmakers Festival in Turkey and the Linz Int’l Short Film Festival of Austria.

The 14-minute flick is also the recipient of the special award at the 28th Sguardi Altrove International Women's Film Festival and the Special Jury Prize of the 13th Naples Human Rights Film Festival (Festival Del Cinema Dei Diritti Umani Di Napoli), both in Italy.

The Humboldt International Film Festival is the oldest student-run film festival in the world. It has been bringing independent and alternative short films together for several years.

The 2022 edition of the festival has been slated for April 17-23.
